ASD Diagnosis Too Expensive for Poor

Instead of being told there is no way to definitively diagnose ASD in adults with medical care provided by the State, the truth should be given to poor adults seeking diagnoses: the cost is too great.

The Autism Evaluation Clinic (AEC) at UCLA located in the Semel Institute, charges $3750 American dollars for diagnosis. This is an out of pocket expense. I’m assuming this means they do not accept insurance for this procedure.

That there is a charge and a facility willing to diagnose puts the lie to information in the first paragraph given to me by one of UCLA’s graduates, who claims to be an expert in the field of autism.
